Site Waste Management Plans
Involved in the Construction Industry?
A Site Waste Management Plan is now a legal requirement for all construction contracts over £300,000. The purpose of the SWMP regulations is to divert construction waste from landfill via reuse, recycling and receovery and to promote more sustainable practices.
A SWMP will need to cover the entire constuction programme and will therefore include the following phases:
- demolition
- remedial activitities
- groundworks and foundations
- construction of buildings
"Implementation of SWMP should be cost neutral"
